I am merely a man
An old one yes it's true
But does not my heart beat
Any less than yours?
Is my pain more tolerant?
Does not my heart
Feel love or passion anymore?
Or is it barred from the
game of life just because I've had my time?

My heart beats strong
And has yet a purpose to deliver
My eyes may look tired
But look deeper
At the child within.
He is still there
With a flame to burn
And a torch to carry
In the darkest of times
